Who Are You Caring For Today?
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself the question, “Who am I really caring for today?”
It’s an unusual question, but in business—and in life—it’s one worth asking yourself regularly to stay connected with your purpose.
Every business at its core is about service. We might call our customers “clients,” “patients,” “students,” or any number of other titles. But fundamentally, if people aren’t being cared for, if their needs aren’t being served, business wouldn’t exist at all. Whether you’re in retail, consulting, healthcare, technology, or something totally unique, there’s always someone on the other end who wants and needs your expertise, your integrity, your empathy.
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you probably know that my Christian faith is the most important thing in my life, and it shapes everything I do. I believe God has designed each of us with a unique set of skills and passions, and He calls us to steward those gifts well—to use them for good, for His glory, and for the care of others around us. Over the years, I’ve learned that when I tune in to whom I’m called to care for—in business and at home—that work becomes both purposeful and fulfilling. There’s an unexplainable amount of joy when I’m doing what I was called to do.
For me, my calling is pretty simple: I care deeply for small business owners and leaders. Running a business is such a mix of highs and valleys. There are the long nights, early mornings, and, let’s be honest, those anxiety-filled nights lying awake worrying about next steps when things are going your way. The reality is, many business owners feel isolated—like they’re carrying the weight of the world on their own. I’ve walked that road with dozens of clients over my 20+ years working closely with business leaders. I've also walked that path myself while trying to build my own business. It's not easy, and understand what you're going through. My work? It’s about making that journey a little less lonely and a whole lot more hopeful.
I step into that gap—not just as a consultant or coach, but as a business partner. I bring ideas, outside perspective, and business strategies designed to move things forward. I listen, encourage, and come alongside leaders who know their “why” but need help figuring out “how” to keep moving and thriving.
So, who are you supposed to be caring for? Who are the people on the other end of your work—those who depend on you to show up with skill and heart? Knowing the answer matters because it guides how you speak, the products and services you create, and even the way you approach a tough Monday.
If you’re a business owner or leader, especially if you sometimes wonder if what you’re doing matters—look closer. You’re likely caring for more people than you realize. If it feels heavy, find someone who can help you navigate the chaos—whether it's us or someone else. Find someone to encourage you and walk with you on the path to growth. It takes a team to build and grow a business because no one builds success all by themselves.
Don’t forget that you were designed to care for others. That means letting others care for you, too.
Be blessed. Do good stuff today!
